Vacancy for a part-time Parish Clerk

and Responsible Finance Officer for

Berrow Parish Council

 

This Parish Council serves a small rural area in the south of a beautiful area of Worcestershire.

The Clerk is the central point of communication for all matters concerning the Council and is additionally responsible for ensuring that the actions of the Council fall within and comply with existing legal requirements. The duties of the Responsible Financial Officer are to maintain the financial records of the Council as required by law. 

The Clerk also acts as the administrator for the Berrow Charities and its Trustees. 

The role:

  • Part-time
  • Average 3 hours a week
  • Ability to work from home with necessary equipment
  • Driver with own transport
  • Any necessary training will be made available.
  • Salary based on NALC salary scales depending on experience

No previous clerk experience is necessary, but an admin/finance background would be advantageous along with good IT skills (Word/Excel/email in particular). The knowledge of maintaining a website is desirable as well as an ability to work on your own initiative.

The Parish Council hold approximately 6 meetings a year, quarterly,Annual Parish Meeting, Annual Parish Council Meeting and AGM for the Berrow Charitites, and these are generally held in the evenings at the Berrow and Pendock Village Hall.

Start date is with effect from 1st March 2025 onwards or as soon as mutually agreed after.
