CiLCA 2023 -24

This is the full course for CiLCA, we no longer offer individual units - the course must be signed up for as a whole.  The course fee includes all the required units and is covered Bi-monthly over a 10 month period.  July to March 2024.

Planning-Nuts and Bolts for Councils

his course is designed to help your Council make effective representations when commenting on planning applications and now includes guidance on biodiversity.

• Introduction to planning
• What are material considerations?
• How to draft a representation, including example text that can be used in letters
• What to include (positive and negative aspects, suggestions for improvement and recommendation)
• What you can do to support and promote biodiversity as part of your statutory duty
• Planning Conditions and how to apply them
• Monitoring decisions

You will also consider a range of Case Studies on the following common planning themes:

• Change of use
• New homes or buildings
• Retrospective planning applications
• Large developments
• and Outline, Reserved Matters and Full Planning
