Your Parish or Town Council has a responsibility to manage risks effectively in order to protect your employees, assets, liabilities and community against potential losses. A key part of managing risk is undertaking an assessment and mitigating identified areas of concern accordingly.

This course will cover the why's and how's of risk assessments as they relate to local Councils and work through a practical example of a Council-led event.

The course will cover:

  • The importance of Risk Assessments
  • Examples of Council claims where risk assessments were important
  • How to carry out a risk assessments
  • Council event risk assessments
  • Working through an example risk assessment for a council fete
