The session will cover
- The Council’s governing documents: standing orders, financial regulations, members’ code of conduct
- Preparation of agendas, meeting with chairman, where to publish & for how long.
- Admission to meetings, standards in meetings (declarations of interest and dispensation procedure), minute taking - format, numbering, powers recorded etc.
- Casual vacancy notice, new Councillor's first meeting requirements (induction).
For those intending to complete the CiLCA qualification
this session is particularly relevant to LO's: 1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 29
