For those intending to complete the CiLCA qualification

this session is particulary relevant to LO's: 5, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19

Open only to Member Clerks and Council Officers.

Each session is stand alone and can be taken in any order.

Basic finance admin including

  • book-keeping,
  • spreadsheets,
  • local council accounting software,
  • procedure for payment of invoices,
  • receiving income (use of purchase orders and receipt books),
  • petty cash,
  • VAT,
  • PAYE,
  • online banking,
  • pension records

Use of contracts, why they are needed and when we use them.

Preparation of budgets and ongoing budget comparisons. Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant Transparency Code.
