Employment Changes -New Employment Rights
April 2024 sees the introduction of a number of new employment rights for your Employees, including:
- The right to request changes to their hours of work, as well as to work from home, from day one of their employment. Employers will have to comply with new statutory requirements to respond to such requests, or risk possible claims at the Employment Tribunal for Constructive Dismissal (without 2 years service) and discrimination.
- Rights for Carers to have additional unpaid leave.
- Changes to how holiday pay is calculated and paid.
To enable Councils to respond to these new entitlements, and to update their terms and conditions of employment, we are conducting a 1 hour Zoom meeting to provide members with the information they need to know:
